Ingress Study – Underpainting

IMG_7043

Hi, Matt!

This painting has had lot of difficulties for me, but it also a lot of things to learn .

When I paint a full figure, or a model with so many details, I should do it on a bigger support. It was very hard to manage values in such a small space.

Also I should prepare my materials beforehand if I want to get the right colours, tones and intensities. I usually use the complementary color when I want to lower the intensity of an actual color, and also pay attention to the temperature to be able to use cooler colors in the shade, and warmer ones in the lighted areas. I haven’t painted in a long time, and I have to practice more.

I wanted to apply what we learned during the Zoom class by using that by using them in a portrait of my own, but I just got to the drawing value study. I am sure that will be more inspiring for me. Ingress paintings are great to look at, but I am sure I will have a lot more fun with my own images. Haha!

I tried to correct whatever I could with this one. Thanks a lot for your comments, I learn a lot with them!!!
