Hi Matt- take 2 of drawing my puppy. Great tips last week. This reference was a little better and I wanted to try using a bit of an outline instead of a background. Figure if I want to I could add a background if I want. 
did this on charcoal on  yellow sennelier paper which was new for me as well. In general I’ve been liking the charcoal.
