Portrait Drawing – Dark Form Light Portrait

In this lesson I we will be drawing a painting that I have seen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art many times. I always really liked this painting. I thought now would be a good time to draw it.

It is a very dark painting with form lighting. I thought this would be a good change for use. I will most likely use my Col-Erase pencil for this one.

I have added a lighter version of the painting so you can see inside of the shadows.
