Value Patterns Drawing for Composition Through Landscape

Hi Matt, this is Caitlin.

You’ve said on a number of occasions that my landscape paintings could be improved by paying more attention to composition and perspective – and you’re completely right, so thanks for pointing that out. To act on that I’ve started the “Composition Through Landscape” class. This is the homework drawing for the first lesson. I don’t have any particular questions, I’m open to any critique you have to offer.

Thank you

I forgot to say that since I didn’t have a white charcoal pencil I used a coloured pencil that I already had; it’s a Staedtler Lumocolor permanent. It worked fine. I can get a charcoal one this week if need be but do you think it’s important given that the pencil I already have gives a decent result?
