Part way through lesson on how to draw a tree with character. Realized tree not tall enough for its width but decided to work along on it to learn about the gesture of the tree and the textures, and letting the distant branches and leaves fade away. I’m going to start over and be more accurate with the proportions for starters.

Thinking about my sketch from last week, the field with the burning barrel in foreground. There is a big drop-off from the foreground with the grass, to the fields and trees. Remind me please how I could show the drop-off better, ?
