pumpkin, larry

Hi Matt,

There’s not a real reference. I’m copying monochromatic exercises people post from another course. This is the final mono exercise, a pumpkin on cloth. It’s 7 values (2 dark, 2 light, and 3 admixtures) painted over a tracing. I’m using a #2 and #4 filbert brush.

I’m getting better not leaving unpainted edges, but still some. My gradations are improving. How would I get better grooves? And improve the cloth look?

I also purchased a couple beginner oil painting books to supplement your instruction. I’ll get back as to whether I find them helpful.
