I spent more time on this, and though I made some progress on the dress, it’s still the wrong color blue I think. I used french ultramarine and raw umber, then added a little cerulean, should I have used burnt umber, or another blue, I look forward to learning how to mix colors. Should I have added some black?
I’m pretty happy with the chair.
As for the face. I started out with a pretty good skin tone using yellow ochre a little crimson and white. I shaded in the eye sockets. Then I tried to get the eyelids and eyes done, and made several attempts, and finally realized I could not paint that small even with a tiny brush. Every correction caused new problems. Same problem with the mouth.. By this time the skin tone looked wrong and the face seemed to be the wrong shape, so I tried to correct several times. Now her face is out of proportion and looks nothing like the princess. I had so much paint on the canvas by now, that everything was smearing . Don’t like giving up so easily but no use chasing bad to worse.
