This is a portrait I drew after doing your “Pencil to Paper” lesson. The main takeaway I got from that is I was spending way too little time on “finished” drawings! My previous portrait which you kindly critiqued took about 20-30 minutes, whereas using those layering techniques you taught me, this took about 2 and a half hours.
I think my shading looks a lot better compared to last week’s, but I still haven’t really gotten a likeness of the model. Something to work on for next time, but if you had any tips about getting a likeness, I’d really appreciate them. Apologies if that is too broad a question 🙂
I really enjoyed the zoom lesson today, I will make sure to put those portrait drawing tips into practice on my next one!
