Mike – Portrait

This is a portrait drawn with mechanical pencil.  I’ve been oil painting again so this was done on a gessoed and oil primed panel.  I follow your instructions for priming illustration board for oil painting and have found that it makes a fantastic surface for oil painting. I’ve been practicing alla prima so I go through quite a few panels. Anyway, with all the oil painting, I thought I’d take a break and do a pencil drawing. The surface makes going dark very easy, almost too easy. This is probably 3/4 the way done so any advice would help.  Thanks as always.
