Light sources – Lorne

I might have bit off more than I could chew with this one – the light sources were somewhat complex and I found the shadows tricky.  This drawing probably reflects my current level of shading ability – I’d love to be able to push it more but my skill isn’t there yet. 

I think I defnitely got a bit muddied with my value scale (for instance, over-highlighting the lights in dark side of the hair), and also found it difficult to go darker – though that might just be a case of patience with a B pencil.  I think I also overly softened some of the shadows so that there isn’t a clear line that separates.

Also, still working on taking better pictures of my art – it’s a work in progress!
