Horse Portrait Flemish Oil Painting Technique 2nd layer

Hi Matt, this is the second layer of the same horse painting. I’m still working on the mane; values; and details in the face. Not sure what I’d like to do for the background, and I need to find a reference picture for the shoulder of the horse. Thank you!
