Forest watercolour and gouache painting

Golden hour at Moora Moora no border

Hi Matt, this is Caitlin.

For this painting I was continuing my experimentation of how to paint a forest without detailing every single leaf. I quite like the bushes and ferns in the foreground.

I also tried using gouache over the top to create sunbeams. This time I used white tinted with a bit of yellow, but I think it turned out too cool, next time I might use straight raw sienna or something similar to give it a really warm feel.

This is from a photo that I took in person, so I partially followed the photo, but deviated a bit with the colours based on how I remembered them in real life.

The size is 6 x 8 inches.

Any and all critique welcome.

Thank you
