My name is Lucas. This is the first image i am posting at the Critique Gallery. I’ve started this Course 3 Weeks ago (I just had too much to do for university… not art). Before that i was drawing here and there but not really. My goal is to draw my own Manga.
So far i’ve read through the recommended reading section and started with the begin here step by step section. I’ve completed the lessons: Pencil to Paper, Drawing accurate shapes, seeing shadow shapes and of course the setup guides.
Therefore i would like to be critiqued with the concepts i already understood and practiced a fair bit.
Within my Drawings i often struggle, when trying to figure out the inside of a object. I think I’m doing a good job with the “macro ankles” (how do u spell it? im German don’t know), adjusting and measuring them. Then i start with some micro ankles and nearby bring some life into the inside of the object. And that’s the point where i start pressing down too hard mess up my measurements don’t take enough time use chicken scratch and so on. Have you got any tips how to solve this?
And it seems to me that the line that separates the light from the dark is drawn first, then tone comes in and after that i try to refine the line that separates the light from the dark right?
