Drawing – Frances

Hello Matt

The lighting in this reference photo is not ideal — it is coming from the front, predominately, which doesn’t give me a clear line that separates light from dark.

However, I liked the symmetry of his features and so was concentrating on getting a likeness by measuring and drawing shapes accurately.

Weaknesses: Ears to small, chin not deep enough, and probably not enough contrast — but for me overall the drawing shows an improvement in my skills.
