Don MyDrawing – Composition through Landscapes: Motion

Hi Matt,

I used gray toned paper, the Col-Erase pencil, and General’s charcoal white.   I also used a brush to even out the tone.   The photos I take always seem to come out blotchy, and I do not know why.

Overall I liked the way this turned out using several different pencil strokes and textures.

I have a great deal of trouble with making the blades of grass look like grass.  The individual strokes do not seem to be difficult, but the grouping so that it looks realistic instead of looking like counting tick-marks is difficult for me.  So, what is the secrete sauce that I am missing?

Thanks for the critique, they have been very informative and encouraging.
