- I wanted to learn about your experience with tracing in your illustration career. How did your drawing evolve, like getting a likeness?
I read somewhere that Robert McGinnis used to trace too, but it was more like he was drawing on top of it and not copying the line.
- Do you have any tips on how to trace elegantly, because I have found that it is even more difficult to get an accurate likeness with tracing, it loses that freshness and tracing seems to be a more advanced skill in drawing.
It’s so easy to tell when an amateur has traced, but if Bouguereau used his tracing device late in his career, you would not be able to tell.
