Portrait Drawing – How Shadow Effects Mood

Last week we focused on drawing facial expressions creating emotion in the process. This week will focus on how extreme lighting situations effect the mood of your portraits.

Tonal backgrounds will be a big part of the class also. When should us a light or dark background? When should you use a reverse gradation? All good things to learn.

We will be mainly drawing with tone. Make sure you have a soft pencil for our class. Shading shadow shapes will be our top priority.
