    Last week you described your process for creating a painting from concept to finished work: photo ref, rough sketches, color study, etc. With the advances in digital apps such as Photoshop, I can see how some of those steps could be enhanced and facilitated. I would think one could start with a photo reference converted to black and white image, then play with values, colors and even the overall design using PS, then use the final as the image for the painting reference once the bugs were worked out. As example I attached a painting for which I am using PS to help me rework some design and color issues. Thought about the use of technology, not my painting?

    I think it is a great way to help solve such problems – but is seems easy to forget that it is an option you can utilize.
