    Hi Matt,
I am returning to DTO after a large absence here and hoping to re-start a new after a pitiful first go, so hoping to make better personal progress this time.
I am fairly new to using a sketchbook and have struggled with the practice of using one, from fear of the first page to just knowing what to draw on a day to day basis.
I am starting to get a bit better at this with time.
To my question- I love to watch your students sketchbook videos and after watching many of them, they seem to have solved this problem-

I can’t help but notice a disparity between the art I do for myself in my sketchbook which I would describe as cute/storybook style characters usual in watercolours or pen
and the art/course work I am doing here which very tradition mainly in pencils
Do you have any advice for creating a more cohesive look as I am having problems reconciling these two very different styles of drawing/working?

    Julie x

    Hi Julie,

Great question. I address it in tonight’s podcast.

Thanks so much for being a member. Keep asking questions like this one.
