    Hi Matt,

I have a few questions about drawing techniques.
I struggled a lot getting the right proportion this week doing “Seeing Shadow Shapes”
I started my drawing over and over again using techniques I learned so far but
they didn’t look good at all.

Yesterday I came across with one of your Youtube videos “Targets” which is this one.

I applied this to my drawing and I found it was much easier to get the proportion and
I was happy with the result.
I’m going to upload it on Critique Gallery this week.

    My questions are
    1) Can I use this Targets technique instead of Angle and Measurement?
    2) Can it be used not only for portraits but also figure drawings?

    I appreciate your help.

    Kind regards

    Hey Jason,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you can use targets with figure drawing. I basically use them for everything. You might want to look at the figure drawing class exercises course. Specifically the three lessons where I draw the figure in a gestural way.

    They are a must.
