Hi Matt. My question is about a conversation I had with Elicia Donze on Twitter and I still don’t get what this sentence means: “I approach color in a more surreal way like Ingres”.

I have been reading about surrealism so I could develop concepts for paintings. Could you share some of your favorite artists who were ’thinkers’ in terms of concept development. Doesn’t have to be surreal. Do you think art that documents the time or era or comments on it is the highest form of art? What’s the highest form of art for you?

Do you think curating a lot of images in advance is the answer for me? A problem I have is images tend to get stale for me and I lose my passion for a particular photo after a few days.
