I love the composition and the layering of foreground, middle and background.
What I miss is light, especially on her face and wings. Unless your aim is to have her outlined against the waterfall, that waterfal is the first thing I look at.
Nice that you share the different stages!

Thanks Marjan! i’m with you – lighting her face is my intention, but at the moment i’m stuck on her wing edge – i might have to rework the waterfall to prevent a hard edge, so i’m holding off on her

Ah yes! Love the wings! And the face plus torso are amazing.

Drawing while listening to the member message is really working out for me … gets a little rough when the member message is short 🙂

In other news, i finished listening to an audio book read by Jim Dale called The Stoneheart Trilogy. Great story, and Jim Dale is a joy to listen to. Who would have thought i’d be hooked on audio books.

Hey Marty. I saw that 2 point perspective tool video you posted. Where did you find that? It looks really interesting and I would love to find out more about it. Tried to find some reference to it online- no luck.

The 2 point perspective tool is actually an elastic stretched across the horizon of the canvas, a paper clip is used as a handle. i’ll try to track down an article or video.

😀 thanks Marjan! i don’t know if Matt is willing to stretch them out for me, i might just have to learn to draw faster.

started changing up some things. Wasn’t keen on her hair before, i definitely want to keep it short, but that’s about all i’ve figured out for now

I started with my first color choices, not wowed, but not terrible either.
