Hi Matt. I’ve had this question for a long time. Is there any specific reason or significance of using a flat brush as opposed to a round brush? I noticed that every artist owns a flat brush, digital or traditional and yet I have never used one in a painting. Why do people use flat brushes and what’s the real use for it?
The reason why I’ve never used one is because it feels too painterly, but I’m realizing that might be a good thing in some cases. I noticed that they create a super sharp edge and beautiful gradations, but It is so hard to control them. If you could share some insights from your experience?
