    Hi Matt,

While working on my painting and applying your remarks from last week’s critique, I found myself in a very happy place. I got a glimpse of the beginnings of my own personal style: a combination of the lovely depths of realism with a dash of painterly to get a likeness that transcends ‘just copying’. Long ways to go yet, but enjoying the ride!
Made me wonder how you developed your style. Did you adapt it to your ambition to be an illustrator, or was it the other way round – your style was admirably suited to illustration work? Did you experiment a lot?

    Regards,
    Marjan

    Marjan,

Great question. I’ll do my best to answer it in the member podcast tomorrow.

    Matt
