    Matt, your critique of my still life painting last week brought home the axiom – Don’t hold on to an idea when it isn’t working. You were right on being distracted by blue jug which on the right of the original painting. You will see in the attached image, it’s gone. I loved the blue jug and wanted to make it a part of the painting but i never could make it work. Then your critique! Viola! After considering the options, it was clear that despite my love of that blue jug, it just did not belong in this painting. You will also note that I changed to the background by dividing the light area and to the color of the white vase on the left, plus other minor changes from your critique. The painting is now signed and framed. Thanks.

    Yes, the painting has more ‘breathing space’ now. Love it!
