Did someone mention distraction? Missed the last critique and nothing ready so far for the next. Not good.

Been doing a bit of play with rough skeletons and gesture drawings, both of which make my brain hurt. I guess that means I need to do a lot more. And warmups, continous line etc.

Some more sketchbook pages. Fun, but I need to work on other drawings and paintings too. Too many distractions?

Thanks Lucille. A bit hit or miss in the posting here department. 😀

I see you have also updated, I shall check it out some time soon.

More sketchbook and doodling/study/practice sketches. Old master copies, and imagination ( I have fits of messing up sketchbook pages with ‘random’ blobs of watercolour, or ink or such, and then find images in them. The result of these is never normal, baffling myself sometimes. Occasionally I turn one of them into an oil painting. Is this my thing? Not sure, I keep looking.)

I am committing to work at the sixty minute figure course for a while instead of jumping around, and I also have some personal art work I need to move along, and most importantly finish.

Blobby sketchbook page update. Sometimes these are too much fun.

Sargent portrait copy quick sketches focusing on shape of hair / shape of face firstly.

And a couple more sketchbook pages abusing the human figure.

great to see your journal updates – you do so good at capturing the gesture in your studies and I love the lizard blobs! I admire that you’re always doing studies by copying the masters – I really need to give this a try myself. So fun : )
