Some older drawings from imagination. I always feel kinda stuck between wanting my drawing to look tight and wanting them to look loose. I guess I want “the illusion of tightness” as I heard one teacher call it.

Referenced some art by Rob Liefeld for some extreme looking poses. (accidentally posted 2nd drawing twice)

tight vs. loose…thank goodness Matt broke me of trying to be perfect i.e. tight…tight for me turns out boring…I love drawing now because I let go and me and my inner imp scribble and smudge and sometimes I surprise even me. My process is simple…a juxtaposition of umages or words conjure up a mental picture and I try to draw it…

Thanks for the idea, I may start doing that myself. Sounds like a fun warm-up exercise, actually.

I think these drawings are a good(ish) example of the direction I’m trying to go in. I may actually jump forward to the lessons about drawing cloth at some point, since I really want to be able to render loose clothing.

I’ve gotta force myself to finish more stuff, I’ve got too many drawings of floating heads and faceless manikin people.

    (Aaagh, double posted again)

Thanks, I do try for some sense of believable weight and movement. Speaking of, here’s some more of my messy scribblings.
